While attending an event last week hosted by Automation Alley, a report was revealed discussing Industry 4.0. Industry experts, and seven leading academic institutions compiled this reveal. This report, nearly 100-pages of findings, discusses the critical areas of Industry 4.0. It is no surprise, that the first area addressed is People – the Talent Pipeline.
Why am I not surprised? As a leadership professor, coach, and trainer, I know that people are always first. Without them, change management is not possible. Negotiations, people skills, flexibility, critical thinking, and decision-making skills are necessary to usher in the next age of industrialization. What are you doing in order to get ready for this?
For those unfamiliar with Industry 4.0, here is a quick summary.
Previous Industrial Revolutions:
- 1st Revolution, Mechanization, water power, steam power
