Planning your next vacation?

Vacation planningMany of us are getting ready to plan for their Summer Vacations. Maybe you are taking the family to Disney World. You have worked on this vacation plan for weeks, even months. Taking it to the next level, you have planned the arrival time to the minute. Finally, you have selected the perfect hotel that offers the right combination of amenities, logistics, and services you need. Each attraction and event that you are planning to attend has been researched to the hilt. This is going to be your best 2-weeks you have ever had.

Even in your busy life, you found the time to read reviews, book the flights, and purchase the event tickets. You put off watching another episode of that TV show, or got up a few minutes early every day to get the things done. You shopped for a new wardrobe, got all the kids things together, and even worked extra hard at he office to ensure a peaceful time off.

And then you will come home. You start back on that treadmill of life. Back to work, school, and the latest hit television shows, or worse, their re-runs.  Have you ever wondered what your life would be like, if you spent as much time and energy planning IT, as you did this last 2-weeks of vacation?

Let’s think back a bit, when did you come up with the idea to go? Why did you want to do this? What obstacles did you encounter on the way? Who helped you in this quest to get to this destination?

Future is yours

Now ask yourself, where do you want to go in life? Ask, what growth plans do you have for yourself? What do you want to achieve? What do you want to learn on the way? How do you want to be perceived? What legacy do you want to leave? Who can help you get there?

You had control over that vacation. That holiday period was all you. You did it! You can take control over your life the same way. Develop and execute your personal growth plan with the same energy and focus as you did that vacation. Dream, fantasize, and develop your future. There is a lot of life getting in the way, but that will only slow you down, not stop you. I have written about the big WHY  in previous blogs, but it’s up to you to find that why.

Secrets to Achieving that New Years Resolution

Are you completely satisfied with your entire life?  Think about the various areas;   Can you improve anywhere? If so, how? That is a personal growth plan. It can span years, or a few days. Whichever it is, it’s a plan to be worked. As Lou Holtz has said, “if you are not growing, you’re dying.”

Do you have a personal growth plan? If not, why? Do you have a coach or mentor that can help you along the way? Did you use any resources to plan your vacation? A travel agent, or web site to help you? If you aren’t shy to ask for that type of help, why would you avoid asking someone to mentor you?

As an executive coaching firm, we work with individuals and groups developing their plans. As an accountability partner, we provide the motivation and tools to assist you in meeting your potential. We help you define your purpose, identify your strengths, and unleash your passion to be all that you can be.

You are either reading your story, or writing it yourself.

It’s your choice.
